We want you to get the care you deserve.

John Maulding, MA, SUDP

Since 2010 John has been passionately helping people who struggle with substance abuse. John is equipped with a bachelor's degree in psychology, a master's degree in addiction counseling - and perhaps more valuably - his own personal experience with addiction. There is no debate that John is exceptionally well qualified.

The counseling style that John has adopted is best described as "an integrated approach". John likes to bring in tools from multiple schools of thought: cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy (Carl Rogers), motivational interviewing, twelve step, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

John has called Seattle home since 1971 and has been married to Stephanie (a fourth generation West Seattle resident) since 1993. John has two children who are now young adults. In his free time he loves to go skiing, play hockey, watch hockey and discuss hockey.
